CULTIVATION .....
[./page_232pag.html]
PAPACACTUS
Cacti are very easy plants to cultivate (except some varieties which you find grafted most of the time). You will be delighted by their splendid flowers every year. There are some important things to do in order to guarantee that so much awaited flowering. They are not a lot but they are very important. 1.- Let your plants in a vegetative rest from mid-October until mid-April without a water drop in a room preferably with +/- 7°C. 2.- From mid-April, when the plants show some signs of growth (new spines at the apex), you can start watering them. Be sure to wet the whole of the compost. 3.- Let the compost dry completely between two watering (very important). 4.- Use a quite porous compost in connection with the roots. 5.- Cacti need as much light as possible but be careful with springtime sun which could burn the plants.
